Our office is centrally located 10 minutes south of downtown Orlando and we have quick access to Interstate 4, Florida Turnpike, the 528 and the 408. From this centralized location we can be at any of our properties or listings in 30 minutes or less.

Orlando, Florida is central Florida's largest city located approximately 150 miles from the Florida/Georgia border to the north, 50 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, 75 miles from the Gulf Coast and 370 miles from the Florida Keys at the southern tip of the state. Orlando is the 4th largest city in the state and the 25th largest in the USA. The population of the metropolitan area is over 1.4 million people with the median age around 32 years.

Orlando was predominantly an agricultural and citrus economy, and over the last few decades the area has flourished with the advent of the space industry in the 60's, tourism with Walt Disney World in the 70's, high tech in the 80's, and the entertainment industry (Universal Studios & Walt Disney World) in the 90's. Orlando's low costs and abundant labor force has recently attracted more industries including medical and biotechnological companies, among others.

Penske: Orlando among top destinations for movers
Penske Truck Rental has compiled its annual list of the top 10 destinations for residents relocating within the U.S., and Orlando came in at No. 3, up one place from 2010. Penske bases the list on the number of requests it receives through its online reservations system and call centers for one-way moves during the year. The list is dominated by warm-weather locales, Penske Vice President Don Mikes notes. Chicago, Seattle and Denver are the only cities on the list that don’t fit that description...
Orlando added 83,700 jobs since 2001
Eleven of the 12 U.S. metropolitan areas that posted the biggest employment gains since 2001 are south of the 37th parallel, the Sunbelt's unofficial boundary, including Orlando, which came in at No. 3. Since 2001, the City Beautiful has added 83,700 jobs, a 10.29 percent increase. Jacksonville was the next-highest-ranked Florida city, adding 14,400 jobs in the past decade, ranking it No. 26. Miami lost 4,500 jobs in that period, and Tampa lost 26,500. Houston has the best 10-year record. It gained 236,700 private-sector jobs over the past decade — from an annual average of 1,975,600 in 2001 to 2,212,300 last year...
SpaceX to launch AsiaSat satellites
Space Exploration Technologies — also known as SpaceX — has inked an agreement with Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. to launch two AsiaSat communications satellites in 2014 using SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. AsiaSat 6 and AsiaSat 8 are scheduled to launch in the first half of 2014 from SpaceX’s launch complex at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Sanford-Burnham, Florida Hospital, Moffitt form partnership
Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa, and Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute and Florida Hospital in Orlando have formed a partnership to invest in personalized cancer treatments, the groups announced jointly Feb. 8. The collaboration, dubbed Personalized Medicine Partnership of Florida, will target cancer and metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Moffitt already operates Total Cancer Care, which offers personalized treatments for cancer. The partnership also will bring together the complementary strengths of Sanford-Burnham’s research capacity with Florida Hospital’s clinical population...
Expressway authorities combine back-office operations
Four transportation agencies that control toll roads in Florida have joined forces on a new combined back-office operation, the Transportation & Expressway Authority Membership of Florida (TEAMFL) announced on Feb. 7. The Orlando-Orange County, Tampa Hillsborough and Miami-Dade expressway authorities, along with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, agreed to work together to develop a single, fully integrated back-office operation for the state’s toll agencies. Bankruptcy filings drop in Florida's middle district
Bankruptcy filings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida — which includes divisions in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Fort Myers — declined by 19.7 percent in 2011. For the 12 months ended Dec. 31, there were 53,555 total filings in Florida's middle district compared with 66,689 total filings in 2010. Of the cases filed in the district in 2011, 2,389 were business filings, including 1,718 Chapter 7 filings for liquidation and 496 Chapter 11 filings to reorganize finances...

Consumer credit rose more than $19B in December
Federal Reserve figures released in Washington Tuesday showed a $19.3 billion increase in consumer borrowing in the U.S. in December, driven by demand for auto and student loans, Bloomberg reports. The gain to $2.5 trillion topped the $7 billion median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News and followed a $20.4 billion advance the prior month.
Proposed foreclosure practice settlement hits snag
Just as a proposed settlement over questionable foreclosure practices by some of the nation's largest banks was about to get a key endorsement from New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, a news conference to make that announcement was abruptly called off on Tuesday, the Washington Post reports. Wal-Mart to add healthy food labels
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to add "Great for You" labels on food items starting this spring that meet certain health standards, The New York Times reports. The new label first will appear on the retailer's own Great Value and Marketside food items, but company executives said they plan to allow other brands to use the label as well, without paying any licensing fees.
